About this course

Gain the knowledge and skills required to work in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care support roles in a range of settings, including community-controlled services supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Entry requirements

Learners are required to complete the Our Ways of Learning (OWoL) Indicator Activity prior to enrolment. This will ensure the program is suitable to your needs, skills and experience, and help us provide any additional support you may need.

EMPOWA Training offers this qualification on a regular basis, with the next cohort commencing in the middle of 2025. Check in with us if you’re interested in enrolling, and we can advise key dates.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Learners may be eligible for RPL if they have a minimum of two years relevant industry experience and/or accredited qualifications, and meet both training package and industry requirements. To apply for RPL, learners can have a yarn with our trainer.

Credit transfer

Learners may be able to apply for a credit transfer of unit/s where these are evidenced by a Certificate or Statement of Attainment issued by another Registered Training Organisation.

Assessment

Methods of assessment typically include a combination of written questions, observations and practical tasks.
